Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lingvoji mobile application (the “App”) and the website at lingvoji.app (the “Site”). By downloading, accessing, or using Lingvoji, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the App or the Site.

1. The service

Lingvoji is a language-learning product. It offers emoji-based exercises, folders, a dictionary, daily goals, streaks, optional reminders, and spaced repetition. A demo lesson may be available without an account. Full progress (including streak and SRS) requires sign-in.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Content, language pairs, and exercise types may grow or be corrected over time.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country, and at least 13 years old (or 16 where that age applies to digital consent). You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for the security of that third-party account and for activity under your Lingvoji profile.

Provide accurate information. Do not impersonate others or create an account for someone else without permission. One person should not run multiple accounts to abuse the service.

3. License

We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, and to use the Site, solely for your own language learning, in line with these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the App, the Site, or our content except as allowed by law. “Lingvoji”, Sprout, and related marks and design are ours. These Terms do not transfer any ownership.

4. Learning content

Vocabulary, emoji pairings, translations, transcriptions, and example sentences are provided for education. Languages are living systems: a card can be incomplete, regional, or wrong. Flag issues in the App so we can review them. Lingvoji is not a substitute for a teacher, official exam prep, or professional translation.

You may not extract our word lists or media for a competing product or for bulk redistribution.

6. Feedback and reports

If you send feedback or flag an exercise, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use that material to operate and improve Lingvoji. Do not include information you are not allowed to share. Feedback is optional and does not create a confidentiality duty unless we agree in writing.

7. App stores

If you download the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores’ terms also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for Lingvoji support, except where their rules say otherwise. To the extent required by Apple’s terms, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of this license for iOS.

Lingvoji is currently offered without a paid subscription. If we introduce in-app purchases or subscriptions, we will describe prices, what they include, and how to cancel, in the App and in an update to these Terms. Purchases through Apple or Google are billed and refunded under that store’s rules.

9. Disclaimer

The App and Site are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of language content, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Learning outcomes depend on you. We do not guarantee fluency, exam scores, or that a translation is the only correct form.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Lingvoji and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost progress, or lost profits, arising from the App or Site.

Our total liability for any claim relating to Lingvoji will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Lingvoji in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (USD 50). Some places do not allow certain limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where such a rule applies).

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold Lingvoji harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the service or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

12. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice in the App or on the Site. If you continue to use Lingvoji after the update, you accept the new Terms.

You may stop using the App at any time and uninstall it. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, if we must do so for legal or security reasons, or if we wind down the product. Sections that should survive (including license limits, disclaimers, and liability) will survive.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Lingvoji operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply. Courts there will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law of your country requires otherwise for consumers.

If a court finds a part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the App and Site, and they replace prior versions.
